Dublin, Ireland
Hello, my name is Núria, I'm 17 and I've been living abroad for two years. I was on the outskirts of Dublin, in the same school but in different families each year.
I have to say that for me the most important thing was feeling comfortable with my host family, both of them treated me like if I was their own daughter, so it was really helpful when I was trying to adapt myself there. In the school everybody was really affable, and I'd never thought that I was going to have such amazing friends that were next to me every time I was feeling homesick or I wasn't in my best mood.
If you are thinking of going abroad for a while I would recommend it. It's a really nice opportunity to visit a new place and at the same time learning a language. Most of the time it will help you to be a little bit more independent and to believe in yourself.
